"Lyle Alzado"
One of the fiercest players ever in the NFL, Lyle Alzado was a mainstay of the Raiders defensive line in the early to mid 1980's. In this painting he unceremoniously dumps the Patriot quarterback Steve Grogan for goal line fumble as Howie Long comes crashing in with Greg Townsend on the other side. I like the violence of this picture which is accented by the strong fairly flat colors. This is from a series of paintings I did of the LA Raiders in the mid 1980's.
