One of my favorite parts of Brazil was the beach. Most, like this one at Praia do Frances, beautiful white sand. One of best things about it, and most of the defined beaches, is that you don't have to bring anything with you. You can rent beach chairs, the umbrellas with the colorful logos of credit card companies, cd's, food, like 6 lobsters and salad for about $12 US, ice cream, and much more. One of the central gathering points is the caiperinha cart. The caiperinha is pretty much the national drink of Brazil, a delicious mix of Cachaca (Brazilian rum), lime, and a little sugar shaken with crushed ice. Abacaxi Pineapples hang from the top and are used for a number of things including a delicious drink with Cachaca or vodka. Of course, you can get a beer, which is served with a sleeve to keep it cold, and various non-alcoholic whatever. The beach at Praia do Frances is overlooked by screened in tourist cabins, and of course, has lots of pretty ladies.
