Meet Chopper, my best friend growing up. Ole Chop got his nickname from the way he played basketball. Beware of your hands. When I was wandering around Lewiston and Augusta after college, Donny was always around. After I came out to California, Donny visited for the first time when I had my penthouse in Berkeley. In the mid '80s he moved out to Santa Barbara and bought a house. He went back to Maine for good around 1990 or so. Every time I went back after that he would always have me over to his house for lobsters. A long time folk singer, I built him a website for his music and he always complained that he couldn't hear any music, although it came through just fine for me. The next time I visited, I checked his computer and the speakers weren't plugged in. A lifelong Boston Celtics fan, he would call me when they beat the Lakers, and I would call him when the Lakers won. Donny Libby died in 2009, and I lost a great friend.
