"Kareem Abdul Jabbar"
The greatest basketball player ever, Kareem Abdul Jabbar (Lew Alcindor) won six NBA Championships, including one with the Milwaukee Bucks and five with the LA Lakers. His three consecutive NCAA Championships with the UCLA Bruins helped create the greatest sports dynasty in history, taking the regional sport of college basketball to a national audience leading to March Madness. In the 1984/85 NBA Championship, following the collapse of the Lakers in the finals the year before and the legendary Memorial Day Massacre when the Lakers lost to Boston 148-114, Kareem went on to claim the Championship Series MVP and lead the Lakers to their first ever Championship over the Celtics 111-100 in six games. This painting is of Game 6 at the decrepit smoke filled Boston Garden. With 3:52 left and the Lakers leading 92-85, Kareem goes up for a Skyhook with Larry Bird and Robert Parish futily trying to block it as the Lakers extend the lead. The big board flashes "Celtic Pride", along with 9 Championship banners hanging from the ceiling in the smokey intimidation of Boston Garden. The Lakers refused to be intimidated and went on to claim their first Championship against the Celtics on the parquet.
