My favorite of the Beatles John Lennon was one of the greatest figures in music and culture of the 1960's. One of the primary reasons for ending the Vietnam War, the Beatles, and Jonn Lennon with Yoko Ono in particular, with a lot of the rock musicians of the day led the Peace movement. John was hated by both the American and British Governments because of his political views and activism. When a friend filed a FOIA Request for the files the US government had on John Lennon in the early 1980's he received so many boxes that they filled his living room. Painted in 1981, shortly after his assassination, the painting is inscribed with his song lyrics, "Love is living, living love."
