"Rucker Sacks Manning"
Entering the 1998 Orange Bowl, the Nebraska Cornhuskers had one focus, to send retiring Head Coach Tom Osborne out as the winningest coach in college football to complete an unprecedeted 60-3 record over 5 seasons. Nebraska entered the football game undefeated and ranked #2 to Michigan's #1. After Michigan struggled to win the Rose Bowl, the Huskers still had hope if they could dominate #3 Tennessee led by Peyton Manning. Nebraska led 14-3 at the half and took the 2nd half kickoff for an 80 yd. drive to lead 21-3. The Nebraska defense stepped up on Tennessee's next series. After putting the Vols in a third and eight situation, rush end Mike Rucker sacked Peyton Manning for a nine-yard loss, forcing a punt. Despite heavy pressure all evening, Rucker's sack of Manning was Nebraska's only one of the contest.
