In the 2004 ALCS the Red Sox were down to the Yankees 3 games to 0 with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th. The Red Sox came back to win to set up Game 5 at Yankee Stadium. The stadium was filled with signs about "The Curse of the Bambino" and more intimidation as Curt Schilling took the mound with a bloody, bandaged foot. That intimidation is what I've tried to capture with all of the Prussian Blue crowd, the Prussian Green fence, the sign, and the general gloomy atmosphere of the painting. Schilling pitched about 6 great innings, the Red Sox went on to win the game, they won the next one at Fenway, and Game 7 to become the only team in history to overcome an 0-3 defecit to win a series. The Red Sox went on to win their first World Series in 86 years.
